March is here!

March 1, 2017

Spring is just around the corner, and it's time to start planning!

Sow your seeds indoors. Make sure you have plenty of light on them, they stay warm and moist.

Transplant outdoors according to the packet, and avoid having them get root bound in the tiny seed starting cups.

Sow some peas outside in the garden.  You can also start some cold weather veggies outside too- like cabbage seeds, cauliflower and broccoli.

Go outside and add some new soil to the garden beds.  Use a shovel or spade to loosen the existing soil.  Add some Vermiculite and perlite, peat moss to help loosen that old soil.

Pansies, Dianthus, Dusty Miller, and assorted perennials can be planted by mid-March.

Don't forget to put some slow release plant food on them when you plant!  ( granulated)
